About Empower Kids Network
Better support begins with better connections.
Empower Kids Network is a coordination and collaboration network being developed to help children and families in Miami-Dade and Broward navigate health, education, developmental support and community resources through clearer connections with independent organizations.
Why we exist
The resources may exist. The connection often doesn’t.
A child’s needs rarely fit neatly inside one system, one appointment or one organization.
Families may be dealing with health, therapies, school, transportation, community programs and everyday family needs at the same time.
Those systems are usually organized separately. Empower Kids Network was created around a simple problem: families can be surrounded by useful services and still struggle to understand how those pieces connect, where to begin and what belongs to which organization.
Mission & vision
Mission & vision
Our mission
To connect and guide children and families through a collaborative network of health services, educational support, community resources and coordination — promoting the overall development, inclusion, dignity and well-being of every child.
Our vision
To become a recognized reference network for community-based pediatric coordination, connecting health, education, family support and social resources through a model that can grow, be measured and be sustained across communities.
Our approach
How the coordination model works
The network is meant to make a fragmented situation easier to understand without taking over the responsibilities of the organizations already serving a family.
Start with the full situation.
A family may be dealing with several concerns at once. Coordination begins by understanding what is happening across health, school, development, family life and community support rather than treating each concern as an isolated request.
Map what is already in place.
Before adding another connection, it matters to understand which providers, programs, school supports or community resources are already involved and where an actual gap remains.
Identify where each need belongs.
Different organizations have different roles, eligibility rules and responsibilities. The network helps organize which type of organization may be relevant to each part of the situation.
Create a clearer next step.
The goal is not to hand over a larger list. It is to help narrow the options, clarify what may happen next and make the connection easier for the family to act on.
Understanding our role
A connector between families and independent support systems.
Empower Kids Network is designed to help families navigate options and create clearer connections. Organizations connected through the network remain independent and responsible for the services they provide.
What we do
- Help families identify relevant areas of support and possible next steps.
- Connect families with independent organizations, programs and community resources when appropriate.
- Encourage clearer communication and coordination across organizations already involved.
- Organize information so families can make decisions with greater clarity and agency.
What we do not do
- We do not automatically provide the medical, therapeutic, educational or other regulated services represented within the network.
- We do not replace a child’s doctor, therapist, school, case manager or other responsible professional or organization.
- We do not guarantee eligibility, enrollment, coverage, availability, referrals or outcomes from independent organizations.
- We do not remove a family’s choice. Families decide which organizations or resources they want to contact or use.
What guides us
Principles that shape how the network grows.
These values guide how we communicate with families, collaborate with organizations and make decisions as Empower Kids Network develops.
Dignity
Every child and family deserves respect, sensitivity and recognition of their individual circumstances.
Equity
Families do not begin with the same resources or face the same barriers. Access should become easier, not more confusing.
Collaboration
Stronger connections between independent organizations can create clearer pathways for the families they serve.
Transparency
Families and organizations should understand what we do, what we do not do and what they can expect from us.
Responsibility
Trust requires careful communication, appropriate information handling, clear boundaries and accountability.
Active compassion
Compassion becomes meaningful when it leads to listening, organizing, connecting and helping create a clearer next step.
